Hero Siege Classes - Full Roster and Damage Types
Every Hero Siege class with its damage type, which ones are paid DLC, and why the sources disagree on how many classes the game actually has.
Hero Siege classes split by damage type first — melee, bows, guns, javelins, spell — and that split matters more than the class name, because it decides which gear stats you chase from your first drop onward.
How many classes does Hero Siege have?
More than twenty, and the sources genuinely disagree. That disagreement is worth explaining, because it is the single most confusing thing about the roster:
| Source | Classes listed | Why it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Fandom wiki | 19 — and it says 19, so it is at least self-consistent | Predates the most recent DLC classes |
| wiki.gg | Lists 22 while stating 21 | Adds Exo, Butcher and Stormweaver |
| Steam DLC listings | Adds Bard and Prophet on top | Sold separately, so they appear on the store before the wikis |
Every list is a snapshot from a different point in the game’s DLC history rather than a contradiction about what exists. Counting the union gives at least 24. This page says “at least” deliberately: no source consulted is current enough to be treated as complete.
What are the Hero Siege classes and their damage types?
The 19 classes on the Fandom roster, with the damage type each is built around:
| Class | Damage type |
|---|---|
| Viking | Melee |
| Nomad | Melee |
| Redneck | Melee |
| Samurai | Melee |
| Paladin | Melee |
| Jötunn | Melee |
| Marauder | Melee |
| Shield Lancer | Melee |
| Demon Slayer | Melee |
| Marksman | Bows, Javelins |
| Amazon | Bows |
| Pirate | Guns |
| Pyromancer | Spell |
| Necromancer | Spell |
| Demonspawn | Spell |
| Shaman | Spell |
| White Mage | Spell |
| Plague Doctor | Spell |
| Illusionist | Spell |
Not on that roster but confirmed to exist: Exo, Butcher, Stormweaver, Bard and Prophet. Their damage types are not recorded here because no consulted source states them consistently.
Note the alias: the Fandom roster shows Lancer, but the page it links to is Shield Lancer. Both names refer to the same class.
Which Hero Siege classes are paid DLC?
Six classes are sold separately on Steam: Illusionist, Exo, Butcher, Stormweaver, Bard and Prophet. Everything else on the roster above comes with the base game.
This matters before you commit to a build guide — a tier list can rank a class you do not own. The Hero Siege Complete bundle includes every class DLC if you would rather not buy them individually.
How many characters can you have at once?
18 character slots. Once they are full, no further characters can be created; making a new one means deleting an old one. With at least 24 classes available, you cannot hold one of every class simultaneously — worth knowing before you fill slots with characters you are only trying out.
Which class should you start with?
Damage type is the more useful question than class name. Melee classes want enhanced damage on weapons; spell classes scale from different stats entirely, so gear you hoard for one is close to worthless for the other.
If you are choosing a first character, pick a damage type you enjoy playing before optimising for a ranking — the tier list ranks build archetypes, not classes, and several classes can run the same archetype.
Next step
Check which archetypes are performing this season on the tier list, then confirm the class you want can actually run one of them before you commit a character slot to it.
