Hero Siege Best Leveling - Fastest Routes to 150

How players level fast in Hero Siege: farming one high-density mission, the Hero level XP bonus that speeds up alts, and why the curve feels wrong.

The honest answer players give each other is that there is no easy way — which is worth knowing before you go looking for one. What experienced players do instead is reduce the time per lap and stack a permanent bonus.

What is the fastest way to level in Hero Siege?

The routine described in community threads is repetition of a single high-density mission rather than progressing normally:

Your best bet is to keep replaying act 7 mission 3 over and over — skip the boss by placing a town portal when you kill everything.

The town-portal detail is the part that saves time: clearing the pack density is what pays, and the boss fight at the end is time you do not need to spend.

Check this against your current game before relying on it. That advice is from an older thread, and act layouts and mission numbering are exactly the kind of thing that changes across the seasons since. The technique — find the highest-density map you can clear quickly and loop it, skipping the boss — outlives the specific mission number.

Why does leveling an alt feel so much faster?

Because it is, and this is the single biggest lever:

It’s easier to level other toons once you get at least 1 toon to 150 and start getting Hero levels. For every Hero level you get an extra 100 or 150 XP per kill.

Hero levels are an account-wide bonus earned past character 150. The practical consequence: your first character to 150 is the slow one. If you are considering rerolling before finishing one, finishing is usually faster overall.

Does item Star Leveling make character leveling faster?

Not directly. A Season 8 guide describes Star Leveling as an item upgrade system: place an item in the cube, spend the matching material, and improve that item’s stats by up to five star levels. Better damage can shorten a clear, but this is different from the account-wide XP bonus provided by Hero levels.

Treat those exact materials and limits as Season 8 evidence, not a Season 10 guarantee. The useful distinction survives patch changes: item progression can make a route easier, while Hero levels change the XP earned on later characters.

Why can’t I level — my damage is too low?

This is a common complaint, and the community answers point at build rather than gear:

  • “No class is so bad it can’t farm Rat Den” — if the earliest farming area is a struggle, the build is the likely cause.
  • “Play a meta build/class, look at a tier list.”
  • Some classes genuinely struggle in the early game more than others.

If you are stuck, check whether your archetype is one that ranks low for leveling specifically. Several strong endgame archetypes — Flicker, Frost Sunder — sit in E for leveling because they need gear that does not exist yet at your level.

Why does the difficulty feel backwards?

You are not imagining it. A recurring complaint is that the game gets easier after level 60, which players describe as scaling that does not make sense — with one suggesting augments should be available around level 35 at reduced power to smooth it.

Practically: the hardest part of leveling is before 60, not after. If you are struggling early, that is the expected shape of the curve rather than a sign you picked wrong.

Start by matching the full class roster to the Season 10 leveling tier list. The reviewed Bard leveling route and Odin’s Fury Viking route show two sourced campaign approaches, while the Incarnation Tree guide separates later prestige investment from ordinary levels.

Next step

Pick an archetype that ranks well for leveling rather than endgame, push one character to 150 to unlock Hero levels, and only then start alts — the XP bonus makes every later character substantially faster.
