Demonspawn is a spell class that flies — and the flight is not cosmetic. It cannot be stopped by holes or rivers, which makes dodging substantially easier than on a grounded class and is the main reason it forgives mistakes while you learn a fight.

What are the Demonspawn skill trees?

Two, and they answer different problems:

TreeWhat it does
Bone ConjurerManipulates bones from the enemy to deal damage and create shields for itself
Blood LordCalls on blood magic to cast and channel potent spells

Demonspawn attacks with Spell weapons, so the gear stats that matter are the caster ones. Melee-oriented drops with enhanced weapon damage are close to worthless here — worth knowing before you hoard them.

What is the Blood Surge Demonspawn build?

Blood Surge is the clearing build, and by the description in Odealo’s build guide one of the strongest caster setups in the game: high area damage, strong single target, and clear speed that comes from Blood Surge’s very large screen coverage.

The guide notes Season 9 nerfs toned it down, while pointing out that this says more about how strong it had been than about where it landed. Season 10 tier lists still place Blood Surge in S for leveling and A at endgame.

How do you level a Demonspawn?

The progression the guide describes:

  1. Levels 1–40: start with almost any early skill. Impale or Blood Bolts are the most convenient before your core comes online.
  2. On unlocking Bone Storm: switch to it as your leveling engine.
  3. Then transition to Blood Surge and move onto the level 100 trees.

For attributes, the guide recommends splitting points between Vitality and your primary damage stat rather than dumping everything into one.

Which endgame tree should you run?

Two setups, chosen by what you are doing:

  • Blood Surge (AoE) — the clearing tree. Pushed further by the Blood Tendrils and Rays of Blood nodes. Recommended specialisation is Hematopoiesis, which increases Blood Surge’s tick frequency, producing more follow-up surges and tendrils.
  • Bone Fragments (bossing) — the single-target tree. Takes Demon’s Grip on the specialisation tree for the highest raw damage available there, and runs Bone Storm with Everlasting Storm to keep it permanently active around your character.

Across every passive variant, the guide keeps the Blood Bolts combination with Wave of Blood maxed for the movement speed and faster cast rate, and uses Ominous Aura in most situations for the extra damage.

Is Demonspawn good in Season 10?

Its archetypes rank well: Blood Surge is S for leveling and A at endgame on the Season 10 list, and Bone Fragments is A at endgame. Both cover a different job, so a Demonspawn can carry a season without abandoning the class.

One caveat worth stating plainly: the detailed build guidance above was written against Season 9. The build survived into Season 10 tier lists, but specific node names and numbers may have shifted, and the guide itself mentions the Incarnation Tree as a change that affected it. Verify node names in-game before committing skill points.

The reviewed Mana Stack Demonspawn build preserves one source-backed endgame setup. Compare it with the Season 10 archetype tier list, the general leveling route and the full class roster before treating Blood Surge as the only viable direction.

Next step

Pick the tree by intent — Blood Surge if you want to clear, Bone Fragments if you want to kill bosses — and check the tier list to see how both are placed this season before you spend a respec.
