Hell is where Hero Siege’s real progression starts, and the requirements are specific enough that you can plan for them rather than stumbling into them. Mevius gates every tier, so knowing where that fight sits saves the most time.

What are the Hero Siege difficulty requirements?

DifficultyTo unlock it
NormalBase difficulty, always available
NightmareKill Mevius on Normal
HellKill Gurag, Reaper, Anubis, Damien, Karp King and Satan on Normal or Nightmare — plus Mevius on Nightmare
Hell 2Kill Mevius on Hell 1
Hell 3Kill Mevius on Hell 1 or Hell 2

Two things worth reading twice.

The six-boss requirement for Hell can be completed on Normal or Nightmare — you do not have to do all of them on the harder difficulty. Only Mevius must be killed specifically on Nightmare.

And past Hell 1, Mevius is the only requirement. Hell 2 and Hell 3 do not ask for the six-boss list again.

Which bosses do you need for Hell?

Six, plus Mevius:

  • Gurag
  • Reaper
  • Anubis
  • Damien
  • Karp King
  • Satan

Because these can be done on Normal, the efficient route is to clear all six at the lowest difficulty you can handle, then kill Mevius on Nightmare rather than grinding your way up boss by boss.

Why bother going past Hell 1?

Drop rates. Uber Bosses have a 15% chance to drop from their drop table on Hell 1, and 30% on Hell 2 — double.

That is the concrete reason to push: the same fight pays twice as often one tier up. Each Hell tier also carries its own modifiers, so expect the fights themselves to change, not just the numbers.

What order should you do this in?

  1. Push Normal until you can kill Mevius, which opens Nightmare.
  2. Clear Gurag, Reaper, Anubis, Damien, Karp King and Satan on whichever of Normal or Nightmare you can handle.
  3. Kill Mevius on Nightmare to open Hell.
  4. Kill Mevius on Hell 1 for Hell 2 — where Uber drop rates double.

Are there difficulties above Hell 3?

Yes. The wiki table above stops at Hell 3, but Season 10 patch notes reference Inferno / Hell 5 when describing satanic zone drop buffs — so at least Hell 4, Hell 5 and Inferno exist beyond it.

Their unlock requirements are not documented in the sources behind this page. Given that Hell 2 and Hell 3 both gate on Mevius alone, the pattern suggests the higher tiers continue that way, but that is an inference and not a confirmed requirement — treat it as a guess until you see the in-game gate.

The Gurag route and drop guide covers the first named boss in the six-boss sequence. Those same kills supply the Book of Soulforge pages for the Soulforged Ring quest. Once Hell is open, the key-dungeon guide and Tier 4 key comparison explain the next endgame path, while the Season 10 overview documents the higher-difficulty drop changes.

Next step

Hell 1 is the gate that matters for gear, and wormholes require Hell difficulty plus level 80. If you are working toward endgame instances, unlocking Hell is the prerequisite to plan around.
